About Us
Welcome to North Country Acres, a family-owned farm dedicated to providing healthy pasture-raised, and grass-finished meats. Located in the heart of Marmora, Ontario, we proudly raise our cattle using regenerative farming practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and the well-being of our animals.
We believe in sustainability and never use sprays or artificial fertilizers on our fields; regenerative farming is at the core of everything we do, using practices that improve the land year after year. Our cattle help restore the soil by naturally fertilizing the land as they graze, contributing to healthier pastures and a more resilient ecosystem. We also harvest our own hay, ensuring that our livestock are nourished with the best, natural feed.
North Country Acres is proudly owned and operated by Dave and Marjory Rivers. Dave, a fourth-generation cattle farmer, brings years of experience and passion for livestock care, while Marjory, a lifelong horse breeder, has an extensive background in animal husbandry and nutrition. Together, we are committed to bringing you not just great-tasting meat, but also the peace of mind that comes with knowing it has been raised with care and respect for both the animals and environment.
Our farm is more than just a business, it is our home and way of life. Dave and Marjory have raised their two daughters on the farm, alongside the animals. The experience has taught them the values of hard work, the importance of sustainable practices, as well as the importance of relationships existing between ourselves, the animals, and land. We are proud to share that legacy with you!
At North Country Acres, we focus on producing premium quality grass-fed beef sustainably. The result is meat that is healthier, richer in nutrients, and more flavorful than conventionally raised beef, straight from our farm to your table.
